Mariette Morawski

Mariette Morawski MAA (Master of Applied Arts; Rietveld Academie, Amsterdam) is a retired Interior Architect, Textile/Wallpaper/Carpet designer.

She learned the art of porcelain painting and restoring in Australia in 1989/99 during a 2 year course at a private studio. This art is still very much alive in that country but rather rare in Canada.

Her aim is to try and create porcelain decorations that have a contemporary look while at the same time retaining the charm and delicacy that is so characteristic of porcelain. She was commissioned to design an up-market product line for a large porcelain manufacturer in Poland in 1990-1994.

Even though she also paints, and took several courses in different media (amongst them printmaking), she likes to display her work in hand painted porcelain with the Art de Triomphe group.
